It is a public research university formerly known as Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) (1965–1988), and began operating as a university in 1898. Queensland has multiple holdings in the heart of Brisbane, Australia, primarily at the Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point. In the 2023 Employer Satisfaction Survey, graduates of the university had an overall employer satisfaction rate of 83.2%.
