Founded in 1954 in Barnaul, Altai State Medical University has a rich academic legacy in Siberia; the university is known for its quality of education. The university offers a 6-year General Medicine programme (including a 1-year internship), taught in English to all international students at an affordable tuition of ₽360,000 (₹3.9 lakh). More than 300 Indian students are enrolled across all years of the medical programme, reflecting the significance of pursuing their MBBS in Russia from this university. Altai State Medical University features a library, simulation centres, and other facilities to provide a comprehensive learning environment. Under the supervision of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science, enrolled students in the medical programme receive extensive hands-on training in more than 150 regional hospitals, supported by the Government of the Altai Territory.
