The Islamic Azad University, Tehran Medical Branch is an Iranian private medical university in Tehran. This university is a satellite campus of the Islamic Azad University. On June 17, 1985, the Islamic Azad University, Tehran Medical Branch was established. The University is a non-governmental (ONG) and non-profit public utility organization; its budget is funded by student inscription fees. Under Dr. Seyed Hossein Yahyavi's presidency, the Islamic Azad University opened with 376 students and four professional doctorate levels in medicine, nursing, midwifery, and laboratory sciences.

The Islamic Azad University currently has about 6000 students, three approval schools, 17 branches, and educational levels that include a professional doctorate, master's degree, bachelor of science, discontinued bachelor's degree, and associate degree. In 2017, the leading council of Islamic Azad University resolved to merge the Medical, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical branches, becoming one of the university's largest divisions of medical and clinical studies. Following the merger, the departments of Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Medical Sciences are now operating and collaborating under the same roof, the Islamic Azad University of Medical Sciences.

This Islamic Azad University has around 2500 officially full-time faculty members. Approximately 80% of them hold a Ph.D. and a subspecialty degree, with academic titles such as Professor, Associate, and Assistant Professor. Till September 2007, the total number of graduates from Tehran Medical Branches was around eleven thousand people, with 3700 receiving associate degrees, 3210 receiving bachelor degrees, 370 receiving discontinued bachelor degrees, 200 receiving master's degrees, and 3500 receiving professional doctorates.
