How to get your Ireland Student Visa (50-70 Words)

You must apply online through the Online Visa Application System, shortly called AVATS, to get your Irish student visa. You must pay the required application fee and submit biometrics, along with your supporting documents, to your nearest embassy. The process time for an Irish student visa usually takes about eight weeks.

  1. 1

Step 1: Secure Admission & Pay Fees

Before you process your Irish student visa, you must be accepted into a full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme recognised by a university in Ireland. A minimum tuition fee must be paid as specified by the University. Ensure you receive an unconditional acceptance letter and an official receipt.
  2. 2

Step 2: Gather Your Support Documents

Make a comprehensive document file that includes your passport, which must be valid for 12 months after your intended arrival, latest colour photographs, a letter of application/signed cover letter describing why you selected this programme, family details, and a written commitment that you will abide by the rules and regulations of the visa and return home. Also, you include academic and English certificates, proof of funds, and a copy of medical insurance.
  3. 3

Step 3: Complete the AVATS Online Application

Visit the AVATS portal, which is the head of the official Irish Immigration Service portal. Fill out the specified form accurately, and ensure that your personal and travel details match your passport. The next step would be submitting the form and printing the summary of the application form.
  4. 4

Step 4: Pay The Visa Application Fee

Pay the student visa processing fee of Euro 60 for a single entry and Euro 100 for multiple entries. It is usually a non-refundable visa processing fee. You must pay any local service fees if required by way of your regional visa application centre. In this case, your study abroad consultant will help you.
  5. 5

Step 5: Submit Documents & Biometrics

You need to check your regional instructions. For India, the processing is managed through the New Delhi Embassy and local VFS centres. You must submit the signed application summary that you got before, your passport, and the bundle of your supporting documents. You may be asked to scan your fingerprints for further authentication.
  6. 6

Step 6: Wait for the Decision & Travel

Wait a few days till the Embassy sends you its decision. It normally takes eight weeks to complete the process. Once approved, the embassy will return your passport affixed with a visa sticker and send it to you.
