Overview

It is a leading public research university located west of Norwich. Originally, the university was based on a temporary college village located across from the current campus. It began operations with about 1200 students enrolled in degree programmes in Biological Studies and English. Earlham Hall (now the law school district) was the university's administrative hall. Today, the university is one of the best institutions of higher education. The Norwich campus provides high-quality academic, social, and cultural facilities to undergraduate and graduate students from around the world.

Located near the centre of Norwich, they were England's first UNESCO City of Literature. They are also based at Norwich Research Park, a global centre for plant, health, and environmental science research. It is also home to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. Spread across 320 acres, the university campus includes academic buildings, a medical centre, a 24/7 library, sports fields, and multi-purpose halls. UEA's four faculties provide research-oriented education with academic rigour in a wide range of subjects across the fields of science, arts and humanities, social sciences, medicine, and health sciences. UEA's world-class research spans the fields of science, health, medicine, the social sciences, and the humanities. It addresses some of the biggest problems facing society today, from changing the lives of children in state care to providing global temperature records to provide information for international climate change policy.

In addition, the UEA Student Union has around 200 sports societies and clubs that cater to a variety of interests such as music, sports, debate, dance, and more. Currently, the university has about 16,872 students, including 12,888 undergraduate students and 3,984 graduate students. Its administrative staff has 3,712 members who diligently manage its operations to function properly.
