Private enterprise Tairunneissa Memorial medical centre limited owns and operates Tairunneissa Medical College. On the Dhaka-Mymensing highway, 9 kilometres separate Tairunneissa Medical College from Dhaka International Airport. As soon as it opened its doors in 2002 , Tairunnessa Memorial Medical Centre made a significant contribution to the training of medical professionals across the country health care system. It was created by Mohammad Shamsul Hoque, who named it after his late mother, the social reformer Tairunnessa. A small outpatient department at Konia, Gazipur, was the beginning of TMMC Hospital journey that has grown into a 500-bed multidisciplinary hospital and research complex that has been recognized nationally and internationally as a center of excellence for heart disease and cancer treatment and research. Out of the 500 beds at the hospital, 30 are available for free. The hospital consists of two six-story buildings: one for the medical college and the other for outpatient services, critical care units, and a contemporary super-specialist heart centre. TMMC's Outpatient Services sees patients from all across Bangladesh. The mission of Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College and Hospital is to provide a comprehensive education that will help students succeed in their professional and academic endeavours in the future.
