The Technological University Dublin was founded by the merger of three previous institutes of technology in the Dublin region - Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and Institute of Technology, Tallaght - and took over all of their roles and activities. It is Ireland eighth university and the county fourth. With a student population of 28,500, it is Ireland second-largest third-level college.
The Technological University Dublin emphasizes an entrepreneurial spirit and an industry-focused strategy, with considerable research and teaching partnership with industry. The flagship campus is in Grange Gorman, Dublin, and there are two more long-term campuses in Tallaght and Blanchardstown, as well as two legacy locations on Bolton Street and Aungier Street.
