Newcastle University

It is an esteemed public research institution situated in Newcastle upon Tyne, a city in the North East region of England. The institution possesses a substantial historical background that can be traced back to its inception as a School of Medicine and Surgery in 1834. Subsequently, it was incorporated into Durham University and came to be recognised as the Newcastle upon Tyne Division of Durham University. In the year 1963, the institution underwent a transformation and attained independent status, assuming the name "The University of Newcastle upon Tyne," subsequently abbreviated as Newcastle University.
