Overview
Selkirk College is British Columbia oldest rural community college, founded in 1965 after area taxpayers voted in a referendum to provide a close-to-home post-secondary opportunity. It has been providing innovative and distinctive learning opportunities since 1966. Selkirk College has six campuses as well as two learning centers. The Castlegar Campus is the major one, followed by the Tenth Street Campus, the Victoria Street Campus, the Silver King Campus, the Trail Campus, and the Grand Forks Campus. The Kaslo Learning Center and the Nakusp Learning Center are two of the two learning facilities. The Gathering Space may be found on the Castlegar Campus. Its mission is to promote indigenous culture, ritual, and custom.

Selkirk College Students' Union was founded in 1972. This union assists in giving students with any assistance that they may need. The union with the college association offers numerous support services for students. Accessibility Services, Assessment Services, Career Central, Co-Curricular Record, Co-op Education, and Employment Services, Coaching for Success, Counselling Services, Early Alert Support System, Indigenous Services, Wellness Centre, and Writing Centre are just a few of them.


Selkirk College students may participate in a variety of leisure activities. Selkirk's Jazz Choir often performs for the locals. Artist Kiesza, record producer Mitch Merrett, and Canadian airline pilot Judy Cameron all went to Selkirk College. Selkirk College helps students get ready for jobs by letting them transfer credits to many other schools. They may finish their degrees and further their education to advance their careers. Selkirk College offers a variety of scholarships to students who do well in school and take part in activities outside of school. Around 2,800 full-time students from 15 or more countries call Selkirk College home to take advantage of its prestigious post-graduate credential offerings. Different academic programs at the university have different start dates for the fall, winter, and summer semesters. The minimum needed IELTS score for international students applying to Selkirk College is 6.0 (with no individual band less than 5.5), and applicants must also have a 2.0 GPA overall. Students who want to study in Canada must include a statement of purpose along with any letters of recommendation they send.

There are bigger cooking areas at both Kekuli House and Tenth Street Student Housing. The cleanliness of this area is essential as it is open to the public. After using an item from the kitchen, put it back where you found it.
