With tireless efforts toward perfection, a "National Plan of Training" was established by the nation in 1997, followed by a "State Programme of Health Care Reform" in 1998, both of which led to the founding of a Faculty of Higher Nursing in 1999. It means this university has played a crucial role since before the inception of this century. In 2001, the Faculty of Medical Pedagogy was established. In 2005, the faculties of stomatology, medical preventative medicine, medical biology, and pharmacy were established.
