Overview

Parkland College was established in 1971 as Parkland Regional College by the Province of Saskatchewan (1973-2008). Parkland College was given a new name (2008). The main campus of Parkland College is in Yorkton. There is also a Trades and Technology Center. Yorkton is in Saskatchewan southeast corner. Where Good Things Happen is the city slogan. Canora also has a campus for the college. It is 50 kilometers north of Yorkton. Heart of Good Spirit Country is the city slogan. Parkland College fourth campus is situated in Esterhazy, which is southeast of Yorkton. Parkland College fifth campus is located at Fort Qu'Apelle. Parkland College also has campuses in Kamsack and Melville.

 

The Parkland College is mainly responsible for meeting the educational and training requirements of communities and industry partners in east central Saskatchewan and western Manitoba. Adult basic education, business and industry, career and support services, computer training, general interest, and online training are all available at Parkland College. Parkland College has been approved by the Higher Learning Commission and is dedicated to providing excellent programmes that assist students in achieving their academic objectives. The professor-student ratio at the College is 1:20, allowing for plenty of contact between students and instructors. Many offices at Parkland College hire student employees, which allows students to manage their finances while attending classes. A trained police force with law enforcement authority is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure public safety.

 

Parkland College celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1998, at which time they launched the Parkland College Scholarship Initiative. Since then, the institution has awarded scholarships totaling more than $1 million. The Parkland College provides scholarships to overseas students who desire to study in Canada, with the mission of promoting, encouraging, and sponsoring students' education and training. During the 2019-20 academic year, the institution awarded more than $90,000 in scholarships to students.

 

Parkland College has around 1,650 part-time students and approximately 600 full-time students. The university includes around 1% foreign students, mostly from Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Fiji, Jamaica, India, Mauritius, Nepal, Nigeria, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Parkland College is proud of its teachers, who have industry expertise and are leaders in their industries. Admission Process
