University of Western Ontario

The University of Western Ontario (UWO) has functioned as a hub of research, innovation, and discovery. Western University is a public research university that has served students for more than 148 years and was established in 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth as The Western University of London. Its major footprint is in London, Ontario, Canada, and is located on 455 hectares (1,120 acres) of land, which is surrounded by the Thames River.
