Overview

The University of Brighton first opened its doors in 1858 as the Brighton School of Art, but in 1969 it changed its name to the Brighton Polytechnic. In 1992, the school became an official university and changed its name. Students come from approximately 150 different nations, contributing to rich diversity. It's accommodates a diverse population of around 4,100 international students hailing from various countries across the globe. It has a male-to-female ratio of 39:61, resulting in a gender-balanced university.

It is about 18,900 student enrolments, with 15,500 undergraduates and over 3,400 postgraduates, as well as over 2,400 faculty members on campus.
