Overview

Overview

Founded in 1920, the North Ossetian State Medical Academy is dedicated to teaching, collaboration, and innovation in the humanities, technical and scientific sciences, arts, and sports. The long journey of the North Ossetian State Medical Academy began on July 10, 1939, when the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR established a medical institute in Ordzhonikidze.

The establishment of a medical university was a watershed moment in North Ossetian culture, education, and science. With his organization, the majority of the duty of coaching doctors was completed, which was desperately needed not only by North Ossetia but also by other North Caucasus republics. With the establishment of the North Ossetian State Medical Institute, new chances for the advancement of life science and clinical medicine, and thus the implementation of cutting-edge treatment approaches in practice as well as population counseling, have emerged.

The North Ossetian State Medical Academy might be a cutting-edge multilayer system of ongoing training for specialists with advanced medical and pharmaceutical degrees. The Academy annually trains around 3,500 students, interns, residents, graduate students, and doctors in primary specialization and retraining, as well as theme improvement.

It's structure includes seven faculties, forty departments, its own clinics, a central lab, psychological and pedagogical services, centers for practical training and testing, a modern library with an electronic room, and 22 computer classes, which provide all students with access to scientific and academic Internet resources.

The development of foreign contacts is a significant area of work for the North Ossetian State Medical Academy, including collaborations developed with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Our Academy’s scientific, educational, and methodological schools are quickly expanding. Much emphasis is placed on the development of an autonomous work organization system, which is a critical stage in the execution of professional educational program content.

The primary aim today is to develop the professional capabilities of the longer-term doctor, who is competitive, highly educated, and leads an active lifestyle, as well as to improve the standard of his practical training. The Academy intends to build a simulation center outfitted with current medical equipment, a distance learning center, and thus a telemedicine development hub.
