Overview
In accordance with the Deakin University Act of 1974, Deakin University was established in 1974. It was named in honor of the Australian Prime Minister Alfred Deakin. It is one of the best public institutions in Australia. Deakin University plans to build world-class facilities, including a $55 million engineering complex, clinical simulation centers, and an Elite Sports Precinct. It has always been a forward-thinking university. Continuous technological improvements, remarkable research outputs, and innovative course delivery techniques have positioned Deakin University in a favorable light when pursuing higher education.

The Melbourne Burwood campus is a large campus with cutting-edge digital facilities. It's just a 30-minute drive from Melbourne's frantic CBD. It is one of Deakin University's busiest campuses, with roughly 32,000 students. This site has aesthetically significant structures as well as a variety of open areas and parks. In comparison, the Geelong Waurn Ponds has almost 8,000 pupils. Students may take use of world-class programmes and facilities here. Deakin Burwood Basketball Association, Deakin University Football and Netball Club (Sharks) & Sharks Players United, and Deakin Snow Riders are among the university's sporting clubs (DSR). The Top Regional Sports Precinct at the University of Melbourne is a collection of facilities that support the activities of a diverse variety of users, from elite athletes like the Geelong Cats AFL team to student-run groups like the Deakin Ducks Soccer Club. There's an AFL oval the size of the MCG, a 50-meter long-jump track with sandpits, as well as basketball and netball facilities.
