In accordance with the Deakin University Act of 1974, Deakin University was established in 1974. It was named in honor of the Australian Prime Minister Alfred Deakin. It is one of the best public institutions in Australia. The Melbourne Burwood campus is a large campus with cutting-edge digital facilities. It's just a 30-minute drive from Melbourne's frantic CBD. There's an AFL oval the size of the MCG, a 50-meter long-jump track with sandpits, as well as basketball and netball facilities.
