Lumbini Medical College (LMC) is situated in Palpa, a mountainous area approximately 3OO kilometers west of Kathmandu, Nepal's capital city. It is a private institution that was founded in 2009 with the purpose of providing prospective candidates with excellent medical education. Here, high standards of learning and education are consistently maintained. The college also received a letter of permission in principle from the Ministry of Health and Population, dated 2063/09/19 (03 January 2007), to operate a 300-bed hospital. In 2008, Lumbini Medical College established its academic foundation by launching a certificate level nursing programme (PCL nursing), and a year later, in 2009, an MBBS programme was launched and is still going strong. In 2015, a postgraduate course was added in collaboration with Kaplan University.
