Students who want to become doctors will take the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Exam (NEET). The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer this test. Those who want to ace NEET UG 2023 must work hard throughout their preparation.
With less than three months until the start of MBBS and other medical programs, students need to work harder on getting ready. The National Entrance & Eligibility Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) has been set for May 7, 2023, according to the current National Testing Agency (NTA) calendar. Applications for the aforementioned test are scheduled to be made available shortly. The official NEET UG 2023 test pattern, as well as the NEET 2023 announcement and information bulletin, will be released by the NTA.
NEET is an abbreviation for National Entrance & Eligibility Test. The test is given at both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels. The NEET-UG is for people in India who want to go to medical school after finishing high school (Class 12). The NEET-PG is for young doctors who want to specialize and join Indian medical institutions and institutes.
NEET UG is a requirement for all Indian students who want to go to medical school, either in India or somewhere else. The score is the cutoff for enrolling in medical schools in India. However, at most medical schools outside of India, just passing the test is enough to be eligible for the MBBS program, so the student only needs to pass the test.
Why do people who want to become doctors in India choose to go to government medical schools?
The current medical seat structure in India includes 48012 medical seats in 300+ government medical institutions and 43,915 in about 250+ private medical colleges.
Whilst the eligibility and quality may be comparable in both settings, a large proportion of NEET-qualified candidates opt to enroll in government medical institutions in India owing to the lower tuition.
Private medical institutions in India often charge students anything from INR 20 Lakhs to INR 1 Cr, depending on the college and the resources it provides. Yet, with a decent NEET Exam result and admission to Indian medical institutes, the expenses for studying MBBS in India might range from 20,000 to INR 7.5 lakh.
As a consequence, many prospective Indian medical students choose to study MBBS overseas, but the issue is one of scheduling. Often, Indian students are too late to complete the application procedure and must wait another year, thereby falling behind.
Because of the restricted number of MBBS seats in India's government medical institutes, competition for NEET UG is fierce.
Did you know that? Since the NEET preparation curriculum has more than 95 chapters and 14,000+ topics, your NEET preparation strategy must be superior to everyone else's. We've made a one-year NEET study plan to help you reach your full potential and pass the NEET Test the first time you take it.

The importance of MBBS abroad is increasing in India like wildfire. Students are dreaming to be doctors of international repute and they also wish to earn in dollars, pounds, or euros which is possible but they have to go a long way. The path of success long or short is not a problem until you have a good guide with you. MBBS abroad consultants are not like fair-weather friends but they are like a pole star in the dark to help students navigate their way and reach their destination.
A saying goes ‘When the ‘Why’ is clear the ‘How’ is easy” Let us discuss why is MBBS abroad a good choice though it is already well-known.
Cost-effectiveness is a key component that draws people to pursue medical education overseas. Although government medical institutes in India provide a small number of seats at low costs, these are insufficient to meet the growing demand. The remaining spots, which are frequently found at private universities, have extremely high tuition—up to ₹1 crore for a five-year MBBS program. By comparison, the cost of enrolling in an MBBS program in an East Asian or Eastern European country could be as low as ₹30–40 lakh, MBBS in Russia for example. This significant price gap is a strong motivator for Indian students looking to study abroad for their medical degrees.
Beyond just financial gains, studying MBBS abroad offers access to exceptional experiences. The majority of foreign medical schools use English as their primary medium of instruction, thus international students don't face any language barriers, MBBS in Georgia for example is a nation where English is used as a medium of instruction for medical studies. Additionally, exposing students to a range of patient populations, medical specialties, and global healthcare systems broadens their horizons and equips them to handle a range of medical challenges.
The path to becoming a doctor in India is fraught with fierce rivalry. Millions of prospective medical students are sifted via medical admission exams like the National Eligibility and Admission Test (NEET) every year. Just 11.46 lakh of the 20.38 lakh applicants who appeared in NEET 2023 qualified. Due to the fierce competition and expensive self-financing and management seat costs, students are compelled to search outside of their country for more accessible possibilities.
Thus MBBS abroad is a far better choice for Indian students, it is affordable, provides quality education, and a plethora of opportunities after studying MBBS in Russia or Georgia, or any other nation of your choice.
The MBBS abroad consultant is the answer to your ‘HOW’. the admission process to study MBBS in Russia for example is complex. The eligibility, intake, document, visa and admission process and so many other things are there. The fee structure and cost of living are an important concern.

It has become a protest in some places, because of the admission time. Again, these candidates are required to appear for the NEET UG exam and score to get admission to the government or private medical colleges in India. This is mentally stressful and agonizing for many.
When the results are out on the 30th of June 2024 according to the Union Cabinet, these 1,563 candidates who were provided compensatory marks will be informed of the actual score. This actual score will be sans the grace or compensatory marks. After that, they are free to choose to take another test. If these candidates opt not to sit for the re-exam, their NEET scores, without the grace or compensatory marks stand as the final score.
Hundreds of thousands of MBBS aspirants appear for this exam. They start their preparation early in their career. They dream of becoming doctors. If this happens, many students will give up appearing for the NEET exam and choose an alternative option.
Because the exam is one of the toughest in the country, and a limited number of seats are available in government medical schools. And the exorbitantly high tuition fees charged by the most private schools in India, many students move to study MBBS abroad.
These days, a great number of MBBS aspirants from India and other parts of the world are moving to foreign countries to study medicine. Millions of students are moving to Russia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Egypt, to name a few to study medicine. Many top medical colleges offer MBBS courses at the best costs and are far better than most private medical colleges in India and European medical schools.
Let’s come to the main discussion. Furthermore, the Supreme Court of India declined to halt the counseling and admission process for MBBS. It said if any of those 1,563 MBBS aspirants choose not to sit for the re-exam, their previous NEET exam scores, excluding the compensatory marks will be considered for final results.
In this case, candidates are in a dilemma; they don’t understand if they need to retake the exam or give up for this year. They don’t even know if they don’t retake the exam; their actual NEET scores will be sufficient to get into government medical colleges.
The re-exam for the NEET results 2024 will be declared on the 30th of June 2024. The center said the counseling for admission into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses is expected to start on the 6th of July 2024.
As many as 67 MBBS aspirants scored a perfect 720, without previous instance in the National Testing Agency's history, with six from a center at Faridabad, Haryana, India. Thus, it is figuring in the list, and raising suspicions about the irregularities.
Many students protested from Delhi NCR on the 10th of June 2024, seeking a probe into alleged irregularities that NTA has declared. Grace or compensatory marks for the NEET exam; have been contributed, alleged to those of 67 students sharing the top rank in the exam.
The National Testing Agency conducts the NEET-UG exam for admissions to MBBS courses, and other related medical courses in government and private medical schools in India.
Now it is an option to take a NEET re-test on 23rd of June 2024. The decision is pending and it is up to Supreme Court’s decision. Many students are in a fix and don’t know what to do. Whether to re-take or not. This controversy shows the vulnerability of the current education system of the country.

This has become a big controversy and has been a mistake in the management of MBBS throughout the entire history of India. The honourable Supreme Court of India has said it is a black mark in the MBBS in India, and we have to compensate it. The NTA decided to give them grace marks as compensation but it was later recalled.
On the other hand, during the honorable Supreme Court of India hearing on the issue of grace marks and other major issues/irregularities surrounding the NEET UG counselling and exam, the center informed that grace marks awarded to those 1563 candidates at 7 centers stand canceled.
The honorable Supreme Court of India verdict that the affected MBBS aspirants will get another opportunity to appear for the NEET exam if they decide not to accept the grace marks. In this case, their original scores will be treated as final without the grace marks offered by the NTA.
The issue is out of 1563 affected candidates, only 813 appeared for the NEET exam. Now what will they do? Are they preparing for the fresh intake or preparing for MBBS abroad?
During the same hearing, the National Testing Agency informed the honorable Supreme Court of India that the NEET re-exam will be on the 23rd of June 2024, and the NEET results will be declared by the 30th of June 2024 to facilitate the NEET counseling 2024 process beginning on the 6th of July 2024.
On the other side, the MCC holds NEET counseling 2024 for 15% AIQ seats, and all medical seats of central universities, like AMU, BHU, University of Delhi, JMI faculty of dentistry, and the seats of medical colleges under ESIC and AFMC, Pune. The schedule details are published on mcc.nic.in.
There will be around 6 rounds of NEET counseling in the year 2024 for the UG MBBS program. It will be conducted till Nov 2024. The rounds may vary on the availability of seats for each program. The NEET counseling 2024 process is the way followed for MBBS, BDS, etc. seat allotment. Currently, 109170 MBBS and 27868 BDS seats are available in India.
There are multiple rounds of NEET counselling in 2024, which are as follows:
After the first 4 rounds of the NEET 2024 counseling session, the authority may conduct additional rounds if required to fill the vacancy. This may increase depending on the availability of seats.
The NEET counselling 2024 is conducted for the BSc Nursing course, BDS and MBBS admission on an AIQ basis accounts for 15%. The admission authorities and state medical counsels are responsible for arranging and organizing this NEET counseling process for 85% of state quota MBBS seats. Only those deserving candidates who qualify for the NEET exam by scoring the cutoff marks are eligible to participate in the counseling process.
This is not one case, but other cases are there for which most Indian medical aspirants choose foreign medical schools to study MBBS.
After the issue with 1563 medical aspirants in 7 centres, the e-test for NEET was held on June 23. But NTA i.e. the National Testing Agency announced on the 30th of June 2024 that the next NEET counseling 2024 will be held on the 6th of July in 2024 for the successful candidates. Thus, the MCC i.e. Medical Counselling will start the UG medical counseling for AIQ setas from the 6th of July 2024.

It can be qualified but everyone cannot get admission to an Indian government medical college, they need to gain high all-India ranks. Indian universities allow only highly meritorious students to be admitted to Indian government universities. The high competition of this exam is a means of disappointment and failure for many students. This is the reason students seek a way to pursue MBBS without NEET. Today, we will see the requirements of NEET and what can be the challenges, if one skips the NEET exam.
Students are continuously searching for the common question which is - “Is NEET compulsory for MBBS in Abroad 2025?” Today, we have brought a valid and straightforward answer to this.
Recently, the Supreme Court has stated 3 major alerts for Indian students who want to study MBBS abroad. These are:
It means, according to the Supreme Court and NMC;
Without NEET MBBS admission in abroad is not possible for Indian Students. It is not a good or possible option. For Indian and Abroad MBBS admissions, students must ensure to follow the NMC Guidelines to get valid education and opportunities. Before pursuing any university for MBBS, students and the university must ensure that they both obey the rules of NMC.
If the university is not following NMC norms, it can bring liabilities and career hurdles to student life. However, most of the top medical universities abroad follow all NMC guidelines. According to the Indian Medical Authorities, the students need to perform in NEET before entering the medical field. Abroad MBBS without NEET is surely fatal for your medical career.
Indian colleges do not allow MBBS admission without the NEET Exam. Most of the Abroad universities allow Indian students to pursue an MBBS without NEET Exam. Because NEET is India’s medical entrance exam. Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Egypt, USA, UK and other countries that allow students to study MBBS Abroad without NEET. But, the students will face the liabilities later in their careers.
Pursuing an MBBS without NEET Abroad has a huge disadvantage that can ruin your career. It can lead to career failure. Studying without NEET is unauthentic according to the Indian government. It can destroy the opportunity to get a license in India as well as in other countries.
NMC guidelines clearly state that the NEET exam should be considered as the entrance exam. If you pursue an MBBS without NEET, your degree is not valid.
However, you should not worry about your NEET marks. Pursuing an MBBS Abroad does not take high rankings like in India.
Almost every NMC-approved MBBS Abroad university follows the same pattern of NEET qualification. They do not want you to score the highest. They just want the students to get a decent qualifying score in the NEET exam. The NEET marks requirement for MBBS Abroad varies every year based on different criteria.
Studying MBBS without NEET is not allowed in India and abroad. MBBS abroad provides multiple opportunities to Indian students. They have comparatively simple admission criteria. Students just need to get the qualifying marks in NEET to get admission to Abroad universities. However, these cutoffs vary every year. Based on the different criteria. Last year, students were supposed to get a minimum of 162 marks out of 720. Even thinking of the MBBS without NEET is a waste of time and money. It can ruin your career and create difficulties in medical practices and licenses.

Studying medicine is reaching new heights nowadays. Studying MBBS abroad facilitates Indian students in various aspects. However, students can easily be misguided through online portals and educational consultancies. Various consultancies in India do not provide students with reliable details and procedures from choosing a university to the NMC guidelines. With our experience, today, we are here to point out all the mistakes that a student makes while deciding to study MBBS abroad.
Before the implementation of the NMC Guidelines 2021, students were allowed to pursue an MBBS abroad without NEET and were eligible to sit in licensing exams. There was no strict NEET implementation. However, the NMC update in 2021 stated that students must qualify for the NEET exam to attain a valid degree and recognition in India. Students without NEET qualifications would not be able to practice medicine in India.
Even in countries like Georgia, the Embassy does not provide study visas to non-NEET qualified students even if they get the university offer letter. But you can find various consultancies offering to study in Georgia without NEET. They divert you to get a tourist visa, which they later substitute for a study visa. This is a diplomatic procedure. Students can get deboarded and get deboarding stamps on their passports and visas, which may lead to a downfall in their careers and dreams.
After the implementation of the Gazette of India 2021, students should ensure to pursue an MBBS Abroad, which facilitates English medium courses and 5 years of studies followed by 12 months of internship duration.
Still, few foreign medical universities offer courses in their native language, like Russian in Russia or Georgian in Georgia. It is the student's responsibility to cross-check the education medium before making a decision. You should visit the official website of the university to ensure that the language of teaching for MBBS abroad is English. If not, drop that university option because it is not gonna provide you with a valid degree.
Some universities teach in English but through translators, where the teacher teaches in the native language and the translator is responsible for translating it to students. majorly leads to a communication gap between the students and the teacher because the translator is not from a medical background.
For the duration of MBBS Abroad, students should opt for medicine in a university that facilitates 5 years of theoretical and practical knowledge and a minimum of 1 year of internship opportunity.
Numerous new medical universities are coming into existence that provide better offers and opportunities to fascinate Indian students. However, students must not opt for medicine in new colleges because it can result in the risk of uncertain knowledge and lack of accreditations. We cannot predict the future of any country or university. We don't know their background, faculties, labs, or students' experience. So it is better to know the to and for and specially the history of the particular university while opting for their MBBS colleges in Abroad.
These new universities do not possess good tie-ups, leading to a lack of exposure and uncertainty. The history and background of the university are the golden information one can get about the university. Considering the background, history, pass percentage, FMGE passing ratio, faculties, tie-ups, exposure, etc, can help you make better decisions and select the right university.
Is your budget only fee-oriented, or include hostel, travel, food, visa, medical insurance, and other extra expenses? Every student must consider choosing a university after calculating their abroad MBBS fees to avoid last-minute financial stress.
Students should have a rough calculation of all the expenditures for the upcoming 6 years. Other than some fixed expenses like tuition fees, hostel fees, mess and food, and visa extension, extra expenses should be managed by the students. The students must consider the inflation rates of the countries.
It is another factor that causes the rates of currencies to fluctuate, which can cause budget instability. It should be noted that one should keep the scope of fee fluctuation in one's budget.
Most of the students are ignoring this important pointer. This is the major point that universities and consultancies can misuse to make money for their benefit. To avoid this, students should consider paying fees for MBBS abroad directly to the university, and if you are paying through a consultancy, ensure to cross-verify the actual fees from the authentic university website.
If consultancies become the bridge between the student and the university, there are high chances of charging them way more than the actual amount. It is advised to check the actual website and fee brochures to ensure the actual fees of the university.
Next, students should submit the fees in the currency of that country. If you are paying fees in Russian rubles, make sure to submit them in Rubles, not in dollars. Because every currency is varied and has different worths. Dollars are worth 86.59 Rupees, whereas the Ruble is worth 0.86 Rupees.
Hence, consultancies and universities misuse this currency, which can disturb your financial budget.
Note: These are a few factors that unlock your flawless MBBS Abroad career. Make sure to read Part 2: Avoid the mistakes in 2025 before choosing MBBS abroad.
Here is the detailed video that will help you to understand the above-discussed mistakes before selecting MBBS Abroad colleges.
These are some of the mistakes that often happen from the student’s end that must be avoided to ensure the best education and a flawless medical career. Avoiding these common mistakes can lead students to a successful life and goals.
