With a legacy spanning more than 45 years, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HPMU) has been one of Vietnam's leading public medical universities since its establishment in 1979. Located in Hai Phong, Vietnam's third-largest city, the university was initially founded as the second campus of Hanoi Medical University before becoming an independent institution. Today, HPMU operates under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and has produced over 10,000 doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare professionals serving across the country. The university is home to 700+ faculty and hospital-based professionals, including professors, associate professors, PhD holders, and specialist physicians who deliver practice-oriented medical education. Students gain hands-on clinical exposure through a network of affiliated teaching hospitals offering nearly 5,000 hospital beds, ensuring extensive practical training alongside classroom learning. The 6-year MBBS programme, taught in English for international students, follows global medical education standards and is recognised by NMC, WHO, and WDOMS, making HPMU a trusted choice for Indian students seeking affordable, internationally recognised medical education.
