NMC Compliance (As Per Latest Guidelines)
Minimum Duration
NMC approves a minimum course duration of 5.5 years, including 4.5 years of academic studies and 1 year of clinical experience. University of Santo Tomas offers a 6-year course which fully complies with the NMC rules.
Medium of Instruction
NMC does not approve a medical degree that is bilingual or taught in the local language. The programme should be entirely in English. At UST, the primary medium of instruction is English, which complies with the rule set by the NMC.
Mandatory Subjects
The “Schedule 1” of the NMC Gazette states that a valid MBBS course must include more than 19 compulsory subjects. The curriculum of UST includes all the mandatory subjects during their 6-year course.
Validity of the Degree
The university is recognised by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities. As a result, FMGs will receive a degree that will be approved by NMC and eligible for licensing in the Philippines.
Mandatory Internship
According to the NMC, students must complete a 12-month Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI). At the University of Santo Tomas, students are required to complete 1 year of mandatory internship and clinical rotations in affiliated hospitals.
Indian Screening Tests
As the university complies with all the mandatory requirements proposed by NMC, graduates will be easily eligible to appear in the Indian licensing exams like the FMGE or NExT. They will also be eligible to practice in India upon qualifying the exams.

Application

Verification

Fees
