Karaganda State Medical University has a 75-year legacy of academic excellence, ranking among the premier medical institutions in Kazakhstan. Established in 1950, it is well-known for its clinical training at the on-site specialised University Clinic, Dental Clinic, and Student Polyclinic, as well as an extensive network of regional hospitals. The university features a comprehensive 6-year MBBS programme, titled “Medicine”, comprising 5 years of academic & clinical training, followed by a 1-year clinical internship/rotation. Karaganda State Medical University's MBBS fees are ₹3.42 lakh per year, making it a highly affordable option for Indian students to pursue their MBBS in Kazakhstan. Operating as an NJSC (Non-Commercial Joint-Stock Company) since 2024 under the regulations of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karaganda State Medical University is accredited by medical bodies such as the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education and Healthcare (ECAQA) and Kazakhstan’s Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR). Its listing in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) makes Karaganda Medical University a WHO- and NMC-recognised institution of higher education, making it a reliable study destination to pursue an MBBS abroad.
