The University of Pennsylvania, sometimes known as UPenn, is founded in 1740. Penn University (UPenn) is situated in Philadelphia and is one of the oldest universities in the United States, having been established by Benjamin Franklin. Today, the University of Pennsylvania is a refuge for intellectual brilliance, standing tall among the elite group of private Ivy League Universities in the United States. The University of Pennsylvania, an epitome of learning, is one of the worlds highest-ranked universities and one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States of America.

University of Pennsylvania has a campus of over 299 acres and more than 100 structures. It is home to more than 180 research centres and specialised institutions. The graduate and professional programmes are taught by 12 schools on one campus, including the Annenberg School of Communication, the School of Dental Medicine, the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, the Graduate School of Education, Penn Carey Law, the Perelman School of Medicine, the School of Social Policy & Practice, and the School of Veterinary Medicine, in addition to the four mentioned above. Among its numerous achievements, the University of Pennsylvania established the nation's first medical school in 1765, the first university teaching hospital in 1874, and the Wharton School, the world's first college business school, in 1881. The university has received several prizes, including the 2021 International Architecture Award, the Phoenix Award, and others.
