Grow in your future with the American University of Paris, a university of repute with high ROI outcomes.

The university had a dreamy start, with one hundred students taking classes in a borrowed church basement in 1962. At that time, American Foreign Service officer Dr Lloyd DeLamater signed the founding sanction of what was back then called the American College in Paris. It was a modest beginning for an idea that turned out to have staying power: bring an American-style liberal arts education to Europe, and let Paris itself do a good chunk of the teaching. The college earned four-year, degree-granting accreditation in 1978, added the word "University" to its name in 1988, and began offering master's degrees in 2006.
More than sixty years have passed since its establishment, but AUP has retained its original legacy and prestige. The campus is spread across a cluster of academic buildings in the 7th arrondissement, located within walking distance from the Seine, Les Invalides, and under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. More than 1,200 students are enrolled in the university. However, students come from more than 100 nationalities, and the faculty is sourced from almost thirty countries. The entire course is taught in English, but every AUP graduate leaves with a proven working level of French. Students who are striving for liberal Arts degrees should keep AUP at the top of their list.

AUP does not hold rankings on the QS or THE radar as other research universities do. As a mark of quality, it holds US regional accreditation through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and recognition that puts its degrees on equal footing with a French Licence and Master.
