On 1st April, 2022, the Atlantic Technological University was established by merging Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology. This occurrence led to the establishment of a multi-campus university. Later on, ATU became one of the largest universities in Ireland. The university spans across nine campuses located in Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal. The university is simultaneously local and global.
ATU caters to more than 30,000 students and almost 3,000 international students from over 115 countries. There are over 600 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to choose from.
