June to August The summer in Astrakhan occurs between June and August. It is dry, hot, and very sunny. Typically, the temperatures range between 25°C and 35°C but can get as high as 40°C on a really warm day. July is the hottest month and has the longest day of all, with desert-like conditions on a cloudless day. We can explore the Volga River, the Astrakhan Kremlin, and take walks along the river; we can eat local food and visit museums and cafes. In this region, it is better to have activities outside in the morning or evening so as to avoid the midday heat.

December to February The winter lasts in Astrakhan from around December to the end of February. It's cold, dry and windy here in winter, with temperatures varying between around -5°C and -15°C (sometimes less), and there is generally not a huge amount of snow, but the days are shorter.
